What to do before you cancel italk Broadband

As long as you’re out of contract, cancelling italk Broadband will be a simple process. In most cases, you shouldn't have to do much admin and a new provider should do most of the work for you.

If you’re still under contract with italk, things get a little trickier. Before you cancel, it’s important to check the small print of your original agreement. You should also pay special attention to when you signed up, and how long your contract was for.

Check your contract

If you’re still in contract with italk, leaving early will mean you have to pay a termination fee.

If you can, it’s best to wait until your contract ends before you look for another provider.

Find a new broadband deal

Unless you’re cancelling because you no longer need broadband (or maybe you’re moving into somewhere with a contract already in place), you need to look elsewhere.

Make sure you spend time browsing the current broadband deals, so you can decide which provider you’re switching to. If you're moving to another supplier, they will cancel italk for you as part of the 'One-Touch Switch' process.

  • What is One-Touch Switch?

One-Touch Switch is a broadband switching process that makes it easier to transfer your service from one broadband provider to another.

When you click on the ‘Get deal’ button on Broadband Genie and complete the checkout process, your new provider will trigger One-Touch Switch (OTS). As long as you’re out of contract, and you don’t owe your current provider any fees, you shouldn’t need to get in touch to cancel - your new provider will arrange the switch for you.

In many cases, you shouldn’t experience any loss of service. Your old contract will only cease one your new service is up and running. Any downtime that does occur shouldn’t exceed 1 working day.

Finding a new provider is simple with Broadband Genie. To get started, enter your address and find out what’s available in your area:
