Reliable and affordable

I was at end of contract and being unemployed phoned to see if I could change the service I was on. I spoke to a gentleman called Bhav who was absolutely brilliant - they want to hang on to him he's a fabulous customer service bloke. Very knowledgeable as well. Also I wasn't on the phone for hours which is also great. I've chosen to stick with talktalk as I've never had a negative experience and I get great speeds with no drop off. Best provider I've been with.

We’ve been with TalkTalk for years. They have generally been very good. Only complaint would be streaming itvx now. They haven’t moved across to TalkTalk

The service is reliable and speeds are acceptable. My only beef is with the appalling customer service. Sometimes I have even had the advisor hang up on me.

I was forced in to having them as they bought Shell Energy out. Used to be with them years ago, terrible provider and customer service can't wait to be out of contract so I can change

@TalkTalk after 3 wks without my WiFi, it's finally resolved after a new router. The problem was diagnosed as a router problem by CityFibre within 2 days. Yet it took 3 weeks for TalkTalk to post me a replacement router, after countless hours of me chasing. Nad no compensation. Really POOR customer service. Can't wait to leave TalkTalk at the end of my contract. No more!

Good deal if have mobile with them too

Been with talk talk since 2011. Very few, infrequent problems. Just renewed (this month) for 2 years with their fibre 150 and honestly, at this point wished I hadn't. It gives the advertised speed, but drops out frequently, giving the impression of lots of buffering and a speed below what I previously had with the copper connection! I only discovered a 'fault' by running their diagnostic, then, although I had done it through their webpage, I had to call and complain. 2 texts said I'd get a support call on a day between 2 times, and I didn't get the call, so I rang up with a simple question: why didn't I get the call? - an hour later, I STILL didn't have an answer! Looks like the 2nd text was supposed to change the date, but it hadn't and the complaint manager didn't give a reason. Got put through to their "loyalty" team, who basically just asked when I wanted to cancel! I told them just to tell me when they thought it was fixed while I considered that question. The EERO6 router is a waste of space. Very low on power and blocks just about everything. I put an old Netgear router in the system and upped the power no end, but there's the problem, no help from Talktalk. While I was waiting I browsed the net for alternative providers, something I wouldn't have done until this fiasco prompted me.

I've only been with TalkTalk for a few months but I’ve never had a problem and it’s great value for money

I have been using talktalk broadband internet for more that four years and have had a largely positive experience. The set up was seamless and the speed has been consistent. Customer service has been helpful when needed. I will give them 4-5 rating stars.

Okay service

OK, not perfect but it's a hassle to change

Great value for money and no problems so far!

All of this was posted on Trustpilot originally and I have added updates here: Wow. Can recieve calls on our landline but cannot make any ourselves so I used the chat twice this and went through five different agents to sort this out. So many different things being said. I made a complaint after the chat and recieved a phone call about the complaint and my issue. The person who called me had me on hold for 30 minutes while they got in touch with an engineer. I said it was frustrating but fine. Then they got back to me and said the engineer would be in touch. I politely asked how would they get in touch and what will they be doing but the person kept talking over me. I couldn't hear properly so asked if they could speak a bit louder and slowly but constantly spoke over me saying the same thing. Rude behaviour and terrible customer service. This and the lack of help and support is seriously making me question why I'm still with Talktalk Reply from them on Trustpilot basically said different departments deal with different issues. An excuse. No one should have to go through five agents. Bad customer service and lack of knowledge is not acceptable. You also don't talk over someone constantly. I made a complaint and was unhappy with the response so I closed the complaint. However I kept receiving messages on my mobile from someone called James saying I've been trying to contact you about your complaint. Seriously SO MANY messages. Left TalkTalk and moved to Community Fibre and STILL getting emails and texts from TalkTalk about my complaint. I've paid my stupidly high early termination fee stop emailing me. Nasty company

AVOID - Overcharged and poor service. Early this year broadband was becoming more unreliable and eventually in March an engineer was sent who supposedly fixed the problem at the exchange. Our service continued to be unreliable but the next bill we received was double the usual fixed amount. The extra charges were related to calls but we had long disconnected our phone so were just paying a standard charge for broadband. Obviously the engineer had mixed up connections and that's why our broadband was still terrible but now we had calls added to our bill. Talktalk refused to believe us but would not provide details of the telephone numbers we were supposed to have called. After numerous conversations with customer service they eventually agreed to refund and said we wouldn't be charged again as we had decided to move suppliers as our contract had ended. However I noticed on my account that they intended to take a higher amount for the next month so I had to cancel the direct debit. For the last 11 days of our contract before disconnection the broadband wasn't working at all and they say I am not due any compensation. Still waiting as well for money overcharged in March. Will be making a complaint.

I've been with TalkTalk on their Full Fibre 150 product for over two years now and never had an issue. Also just before the price rises came in earlier in the year I called them to see what they could do and they recontracted me on a cheaper rate. Their customer service was really helpful. I can't complain at all and would recommend one of their Full Fibre products.

Shell/Talk Talk Abysmal on all counts. Slow speeds (when there's a connection) and altogether a miserable experience. Three months left on my contract, and then it's bye bye. Avoid.
