I’ve been a loyal Virgin Media customer for nine years, spending over £100 a month. Now, at a time when I need to cut costs due to my husband’s critical illness, Virgin Media is making it as difficult as possible to reduce my contract. Twelve months into an 18-month contract, the only way to lower my bill was to pay £214 and upgrade to a broadband package we don’t even need—just so they can squeeze more money from a family already struggling. Absolutely disgraceful. Once this contract ends, we’ll be taking our broadband business elsewhere. Virgin Media’s greed and lack of compassion are shocking. Avoid this company at all costs!

The worst experience in my life! After I moved to new property they rescheduled my installation appointment 4 times! It’s been 3 months since I applied for installation. They also lying to me on their helpline about my installation date. They also not allowed me to cancel my contract by telling me that they are working on it (which is completely not true). Can’t say anything else, avoid this company!

Never had such an awful service, from any company, ever! Constant faults and lack of service. When you call the staff couldn't care less. The only resolution you will be offered is an update of services with very aggressive sellers. My services are currently not working, I've already paid in full, I work from home for the NHS so unable to do that and they will not help me unless I renew my contract. Suspicious that isn't it.

Overall, I've been unimpressed with Virgin Media. The price was pretty good, initially, but then they invoked that usual play where the prices jacked up ... a lot. I've never understood why broadband providers do that. Instead of rewarding loyalty, they penalise it and effectively drive you away. It's madness. Obviously, there must be a business rationale to it, or they wouldn't do it. In terms of broadband service, it's been, "meh". not absolutely terrible, but certainly not good. As far as customer service and support goes, absolutely terrible. A very simple online chat will take a MINIMUM of 30 minutes, and anything a little out of the ordinary will be 60 minutes plus. I'm guessing that the customer service agents work in a sweat shop somewhere in India and are handling multiple customers at the same time, because it takes AT LEAST five minutes for them to respond each time. So, summary, don't choose Virgin Media.

Agreed to move my broadband to Virgin Media following discussion with Sales person who assured me they would honour my £600 cancellation fee with EE\BT. Chased this up via web chat to be told after about an hour of being moved from person to person that this was not possible and did I have this agreement in writing. Phoned Sales person who stated he had initially passed this through and would follow it up for me. Received text back later that day from him stating he had not had any success in covering the EE\BT cancellation fee. Fortunately I was still in the 14 day cooling off period and cancelled my contract with Virgin, but had issues moving back to EE\BT because the Virgin install engineers had removed my EE\BT modem and cut the required installation cables. This resulted in three days without the internet which seriously disturbed my ability to work from home. I would strongly recommend that anybody considering Virgin Media seriously reconsider!
